Custom Paint Checklist

You work hard for your money. And custom paint is an investment. We created this checklist to help you make a sound decision about investing in artwork. Just because someone claims they airbrush or pinstripe doesn't automatically make them good. A person's artistic ability honed over time makes them good. We've seen a lot of poor quality paint work. Inexperience and poor design is the biggest problem. Airbrushing, pin striping, and painting are skills that are perfected only through practice. Experience is the equivalent to practice.
$$ How much experience does your custom painter have? How long have they been full-time in their craft?
$$ Does your custom painter listen to your ideas? Does he or she work with you to get the end result you want?
$$ Do they have a fully operational facility with a controlled environment, or are they painting your project in an old shed?
$$ Don't confuse style with quality. Look closely at the finished product. It may not be your 'style,' but is it good quality?
$$ Look at the layout of the artwork. Does it compliment the body style?
$$ A large flat surface is very forgiving. Ask to see work on smaller, curved surfaces. Detail at this level demands utmost skill!
$$ Allow your custom painter ample time to do a good job for you. You'll be enjoying your art for years to come. Don't fall for the "I'll get it done quick" gimmick. A good artist puts time and thought into each project and strives for perfection.
